The mixed martial arts (MMA) world was flipped upside-down last night (Tues., Aug, 22, 2017) when news broke that Jon Jones failed drug test administered by United States Anti Doping Agency (USADA) one day before his fight against Daniel Cormier at UFC 214 on July 29, 2017, in Anaheim, California.
Naturally, many of the sport’s top stars and personalities took to Twitter to express their feel goods following the unexpected news:
I will wait before the details are in before I comment, but I will say that I hope this is some… https://t.co/30ttLDrqgv

Jon Jones: So gifted physically and mentally. So flawed and inexplicably insecure. Such a sad story. But hard to feel sorry for him.

According to Malki Kawa — long-time manager to Jon Jones -- “Bones” was “crushed” upon hearing the news and the team is looking into the possibility of a tainted supplement being the culprit.
Jones now faces up to a four-year suspension since it’s his second infraction in just over a year’s time. His knockout win over Cormier at UFC 214 was his first bout after serving a one-year suspension for his failed drug test, which ultimately scrapped his scheduled fight vs. “DC” at UFC 200.
Jones has long proclaimed he has stayed far way from performance enhancing drugs (PEDs), while Cormier has always accused his bitter rival of taking steroids throughout his career. And after this latest infraction, it’s kind of hard to side with “Bones.”
