A lot of fans, as well as mixed martial arts (MMA) fighters, want to see former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) heavyweight champion Brock Lesnar make his return to the Octagon later this year.
Stefan Struve isn’t one of them.
“Skyscraper” doesn’t want cheaters in UFC and the previously-exempt Lesnar was popped by United States Anti-Doping Agency (USADA) in the wake of his Mark Hunt fight at the UFC 200 pay-per-view (PPV) in summer of 2016.
From his conversation with Submission Radio:
"I think cheaters should not be in the UFC and I think the UFC made a big mistake last time by bringing Lesnar in and giving him a four-month exemption before his fight so that USADA wouldn’t test him for four months, which is a normal thing to do if you bring back a fighter. I believe that if he were to come back now he would have to go through six months of testing. So I’d be very curious how those six months go. I think Jones beats him anyway. Simple as that. Jones is too good of an athlete. I don’t think Lesnar gets a hold of him to take him down. Jones moves too well.”
Lesnar has been loosely attached to a super fight with 205-pound kingpin Jon Jones.
As for Struve, he’ll headline the upcoming UFC Fight Night 115 event on UFC Fight Pass against former Bellator champion Alexander Volkov on Sept. 2, 2017 from inside Ahoy Rotterdam arena in Rotterdam, Netherlands.
