Welcome to Midnight Mania!

In case you missed it, The Ultimate Fighter 25 Finale went down tonight (Fri., July 7, 2017), and the main event between Justin Gaethje and Michael Johnson was ridiculously awesome, edge-of-your-seat action the whole time. I had an insanely hard time recapping this Fight of the Year candidate because so much happened so fast. Justin Gaethje had a lot to live up to coming into the bout, an undefeated World Series of Fighting champion with a reputation for insane violence. Somehow, he managed to over-deliver, taking out a game Michael Johnson despite being on wobbly legs twice.

195 significant strikes landed in two rounds.

Conor McGregor even commended the fight as a “good contest”.

On the post-fight show on FS1, Gaethje said he would like to face Tony Ferguson for the interim belt, then Conor McGregor. After the debut I just witnessed, I would watch Gaethje fight a cement truck. Tony Ferguson sounds like unbelievable potential for violence to me.

McGregor, meanwhile, is busy training like Ivan Drago for his bout with Floyd Mayweather. The first press conference is Tuesday!

Drago also trained in a carefully monitored lab for his bout with Rocky- although, in this case, McGregor is the huge underdog to 49-0 boxer Floyd Mayweather.

Sure you will, Kevin.

You gotta love Joanna Jedrzejczyk

Come on, man. He’s literally in the UFC Hall of Fame now.

Some of the prelims were okay.

Regional knockouts went down too, including this one, which occurred after the victorious fighter kicked the other guy at the weigh-ins

This was an awful fight, and should never have been made.
