The always powerful and explosive Yoel Romero will step back inside the Octagon later tonight (Sat., July 8, 2017) at UFC 213 live on pay-per-view (PPV) from inside T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, to challenge striker Robert Whittaker for the interim UFC middleweight title. Romero will be looking to extend his current eight-fight win streak and add Whittaker to a long list of talented contenders unworthy of defeating “Soldier of God.”
In order to prepare fight fans for Romero’s showdown with Whittaker, UFC featured the hulking middleweight in the most recent edition of “KO of the Week.” This time, the action focuses around Romero’s matchup with former UFC light heavyweight champion Lyoto Machida at UFC Fight Night 70. It remains Romero’s lone headlining act since making his UFC debut back in 2013, but one that saw “Soldier of God” sleep the Brazilian legend after landing vicious elbows in the third round.
If Romero can get into similar positions against Whittaker at UFC 213, he may capture yet another monstrous finish en route to claiming 185-pound gold.
