It was a momentous Octagon debut for undefeated light heavyweight Trevin Giles earlier tonight (Sat., July 8, 2017) at UFC 213 live from inside T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, when he took on submission expert James Bochnovic in the opening Fight Pass preliminary bout. Despite Bochnovic’s track record of finishing fights on the canvas, Giles wasted no time taking him down and scoring points in bunches. In Round 2, after Bochnovic turned over on his side, Giles took full control and blasted the light heavyweight with heavy left hooks. Bochnovic went limp and the referee jumped in for the knockout stoppage. Unfortunately, Bochnovic struggled to regroup after the vicious finish and ended up leaving the cage on a stretcher (shown above).

With this win, Giles enters the depleted 205-pound division in fashion. “The Problem” is still green and in need of experience at 24 years of age, but he showed raw power and finishing ability in his UFC debut.
