Former World Series of Fighting (WSOF) champion Justin Gaethje (17-0) is set to make his Octagon debut when he takes on perennial lightweight contender Michael Johnson (17-11) at The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) 25 Finale later tonight (Fri., July 7, 2017) from inside T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Johnson, 30, is coming off a crushing submission loss to Khabib Nurmagomedov at UFC 205 this past November. Before that, “The Menace” knocked out Dustin Poirier at UFC Fight Night 94 in his first main event bid. With a stacked division in front of him, as well as behind him, Johnson desperately needs a win to stay in contention.
Gaethje, 28, recently signed with UFC after racking off five-straight lightweight title defenses as a member of WSOF. “The Highlight” has compiled 15 finishes in just 17 career victories, and will ultimately look to enter the promotion with a bang.
