While Jason Knight did his best to weather the storm earlier tonight (Sat., July 29, 2017) at UFC 214 live from inside Honda Center in Anaheim, Calif., his efforts fell short against former UFC featherweight title challenger Ricardo Lamas. Knight was taking a huge step up in competition and it showed early. Outside of a slick leg lock attempt, “Hick Diaz” wasn’t able to do much damage to Lamas. Instead, “The Bully” blasted Knight on the feet with unbelievable power shots that turned the Mississippi native into an Octagon zombie. After the action hit the canvas, Lamas peppered Knight with blistering ground-and-pound en route to earning the first-round TKO finish.

With this win, Lamas proves that he’s still a worthy title contender moving forward into 2018. Knight is one of the toughest guys at 145 pounds, so it was quite impressive to see Lamas walk through him like a knife to butter. Another win and Lamas could find himself in a No. 1 contender’s bout.
