Former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) middleweight champion Chris Weidman finally, mercifully, snapped a three-fight losing streak at UFC on FOX 25 last Saturday night (July 22, 2017), thanks to a come-from-behind submission win over Kelvin Gastelum.
Watch the exciting finish here.
After the headliner wrapped inside NYCB Live in Uniondale, New York, Weidman (14-3) proceeded to call out 185-pound kingpin Michael Bisping, who was recently made available when Robert Whittaker had a falling out with his knee.
More on that turn of events here.
That’s probably why “All American” asked to collide with “The Count” later this year, depending on the recovery of “The Reaper” and of course, the return of former welterweight champion Georges St-Pierre.
“That British bum who is crying in his freaking house right now, I’m back, baby,” Weidman said after the right. “What’s up? Stop hiding from the real men. Let’s go, baby. I’m the champ and everyone knows it.”
Say my name bitch! @ChrisWeidmanUFC

Weidman, 33, has reason to celebrate after finishing Gastelum in front of his hometown fans. But it may be a bit premature to say he’s “back” after getting dropped in the opening frame.
By a natural welterweight.
Bisping (30-7) is currently rehabbing a bum knee and could return to the Octagon this fall. While his history with “All American” — which includes gratuitous use of the word bitch — is well documented, it may not be enough to catapult him into a title shot.
Then again, stranger things have happened.
