As it so often does before its main events, Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) is rolling out a handful of free fight videos, this time to pump up the UFC 214 pay-per-view (PPV) headliner between Jon Jones and Daniel Cormier.
“Bones” was asked to defend his 205-pound strap at UFC 140 against ex-champion Lyoto Machida, who once captured the crown by planishing Rashad Evans. While “The Dragon” had an impressive first round, he was strangled into unconsciousness in the second stanza.
That win was remembered for its brutality, after Jones dumped a lifeless Machida on his head, as well as trainer Greg Jackson’s instruction to “go get some fans.” Relive that silliness by clicking here.
Fast-forward more than five years into the future and Jones will try to reclaim the strap he never lost against “DC” a week from Saturday night (July 29, 2017) in Anaheim, California.
