Reigning Bellator MMA bantamweight champion Eduardo Dantas will defend his title opposite Darrion Caldwell at Bellator 184 on Oct. 6 live on Spike TV from inside WinStar World Casino and Resort in Thackerville, Okla., per a promotional report. The 135-pound scrap will serve as the main event.
Dantas, 28, continues to prove himself to be one of the best bantamweights in the world. The Nova Uniao product has produced a 5-1 record in Bellator title fights and will look to win his fifth-straight bout since losing to Joe Warren back in 2014.
Caldwell, 29, will put his 7-1 promotional record on line in his first ever Bellator title fight. The New Jersey native was always supposed to end up here, but a shocking submission loss to veteran Joe Taimanglo last year temporarily slowed “The Wolf.” Caldwell will be competing for the first time since defeating Taimanglo in a rematch this past December.
Bellator 184 will also offer a co-main event matchup between rising featherweight contender Emmanuel Sanchez and former divisional champion Daniel Straus.
