Vitor Belfort vs. Nate Marquardt full fight video highlights - UFC 212

In potentially his last Octagon appearance, MMA legend Vitor Belfort looked to turn back the clock last night (Sat., June 3, 2017) at UFC 212 live on pay-per-view (PPV) from inside the Jeunesse Arena in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, when he took on fellow middleweight veteran Nate Marquardt in a matchup sure to produce a finish.

It was Marquardt who struck first with an early takedown, but Belfort was able to tie up and force a standup. Once there, “The Phenom” started to push Marquardt back and launch heavy strikes. Marquardt stood in strong and offered offense of his own. Round 2 offered more pressure by Belfort, as the Brazilian destroyed Marquardt against the cage with knees and uppercuts. Marquardt was able to land some of his own punches and started to bloody Belfort up. While Marquardt landed a nasty standing left elbow in Round 3, Belfort landed the more significant shots down the stretch. In the end, Belfort did enough to earn the unanimous decision.

With this win, Belfort captures his first victory since knocking Dan Henderson out back in 2015. Even at 40 years of age, the MMA legend can still deliver. After the fight, Belfort announced that he plans to reinvent himself and fight five more times in UFC.
