Mixed martial arts (MMA) journeyman Brian Kelleher made the most out of his UFC debut earlier tonight (Sat., June 3, 2017) at UFC 212 from inside the Jeunesse Arena in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, when he quickly took out No. 13-ranked bantamweight Iuri Alcantara. It may have taken Kelleher a few seconds to find his groove, but the Octagon newcomer poured it on the Brazilian early. After landing a hard shot along the cage, Kelleher forced Alcantara to shoot for a takedown. Unfortunately for Alcantara, “Boom” was right there for a nasty guillotine choke finish just two minutes into the round.
The impressive submission can be seen below courtesy of UFC.

With this win, Kelleher busts onto the UFC scene with a memorable finish and post-fight interview after shushing the Brazilian crowd and calling out bantamweight “sharks.” The man they call “Boom” could make his way onto the UFC on FOX 25 card in July for a hometown appearance, but he should get another big opportunity this year regardless.
