Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) strawweight Felice Herrig is 4-1 following her ball-growing stint on The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) 20 and the winner of three straight. So why isn’t she being promoted accordingly?
Because she’s not young enough (or pretty enough).
That’s according to “Lil’ Bulldog,” who took the world’s largest mixed martial arts (MMA) organization to task for leaving her in the dark, at least when it comes to bigger and better opportunities (like this).
“Honestly, if you want to know the truth, I just feel like I’m not young and beautiful for the UFC to want to promote me,” Herrig said over the weekend (via Sherdog). “And it’s sad because I’ve really worked hard to be here and it’s hard to see, you know, these people who haven’t been through what I’ve been through and just got to the UFC at the right time and they’re getting all these opportunities.”
Hey, it could be worse.
Herrig (13-6) is fresh off her poop-producing win over Justine Kish at the UFC Fight Night 112 event on FOX Sports 1, which took place inside Chesapeake Energy Arena in Oklahoma City (full recap here).
So, is it time for the No. 13-ranked Herrig to finally get her due?
