Will Fedor Emelianenko ever fight again?
“Yes, because I am a fighter,” the former PRIDE FC heavyweight champion told the mixed martial arts (MMA) media following his loss to Matt Mitrione, which took place at the Bellator NYC pay-per-view (PPV) event last Saturday night (June 24, 2017) in New York City.
Watch the video highlights here.
The technical knockout loss, the fourth of his storied MMA career, snapped a five-fight winning streak for Emelianenko (36-5, 1 NC), who came out of retirement in late 2015 to reenter the world of combat sports.
To mixed results.
“I would love to have the rematch with Matt Mitrione,” Emelianenko continued (via MMA Fighting). “I’m feeling, myself, very good (right now). I just got the doctor’s inspection, so everything was good.”
No doubt Scott Coker — who lured Emelianenko over to Bellator MMA based on their previous relationship in Strikeforce — will get at least one more fight from the 40-year-old legend.
Though I’m not sure it will be against this guy.
