Matt Mitrione made good on his high-profile tilt with MMA legend Fedor Emelianenko last night (Sat., June 24, 2017) at Bellator NYC live on pay-per-view (PPV) from inside Madison Square Garden in New York City. After an insane double knockdown early into the first round that put both heavyweights on their butts, Mitrione regained his footing quicker than “Last Emperor” and made the Russian pay. Mitrione leaped on a stunned Emelianenko, destroyed him with countless under-the-armpit punches, and slammed one final blow to the legend’s head before walking away with the 74-second knockout finish.

With this win, Mitrione pushes his Bellator win streak to three and locks down the biggest victory of his professional career. Emelianenko is an absolute god around these parts and defeating him in this manner only further propels “Meathead” up the promotional ladder.
