Mixed martial arts (MMA) legend and former UFC champion B.J. Penn will return to action tomorrow night (Sun., June 25, 2017) at UFC Fight Night 112 live on FOX Sports 1 from inside Chesapeake Energy Arena in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, when he takes on featherweight staple Dennis Siver. “The Prodigy” is coming off a crushing knockout defeat to Yair Rodriguez back at UFC Fight Night 103 and is in search of his first UFC victory since knocking out Matt Hughes back in 2010.
In order to prepare fight fans for Penn’s 25th Octagon appearance, UFC featured the MMA legend in the most recent edition of “KO of the Week.” This time, the action focuses around Penn and his 2008 title fight opposite lightweight contender Sean Sherk at UFC 84. With literally seconds left in the third round, Penn landed one of the more iconic flying knees in MMA history, leveling “Muscle Shark” along the cage and forcing the referee to jump in for the stoppage after a few added punches. It was Penn’s first UFC title defense and his first knockout win since 2002.
If Penn can tap into his endless bag of tricks and improve on his performance from earlier this year opposite “Pantera,” Siver may have his hands full when the two featherweights spark off UFC Fight Night 112’s main card on FS1.
UFC Fight Night 112 will be headlined by a lightweight clash pitting former Ultimate Fighter winner Michael Chiesa against rising contender Kevin Lee.
