Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) is sending Tecia Torres to The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) 25 Finale, according to Las Vegas Review-Journal, scheduled for Fri., July 7, 2017 inside T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
That’s because strawweight newcomer Amanda Ribas was flagged for a potential doping violation and yanked from her 115-pound showdown against Juliana Lima, who now battles “Tiny Tornado” on the FOX Sports 1 telecast.
Torres (8-1) knows a thing or two about TUF, having cut her teeth on season 20 of the combat sports reality show. Upon graduation, the former Invicta standout racked up a 4-1 record in UFC, including last February’s unanimous decision win over Bec Rawlings.
Lima (9-3), meanwhile, crossed over to UFC in July 2014 after getting her start on the Brazilian circuit. “Ju Thai” is 3-2 during that stint and was last seen capturing a unanimous decision win over J.J. Aldrich.
TUF 25 Finale will be headlined by the intriguing lightweight showdown pitting top-ranked striker Michael Johnson against the debuting Justin Gaethje. Elsewhere on the card, Gray Maynard returns to collide with Teruto Ishihara.
