Don’t expect a little thing like a savage, third-round head kick knockout to stymie a grizzled veteran like Bethe Correia.
In fact, the Brazilian vows to return stronger than ever, despite her main event loss to Holly Holm, which took place in the UFC Fight Night 111 headliner last Saturday on UFC Fight Pass in Singapore.
Our full recap here.
“I want to congratulate Holly for the fight. Even though she was coming from three losses she didn't quit and hide, and fought me on the main event,” Correia wrote on Instagram.
Holm snapped a three-fight losing streak with the win.
“I won't return with the victory I dreamed of, but I return with my head held high with a dream to fight in Asia realized and being a protagonist of the night,” she continued. “I can only say this to my fans that like Bethe Correia: I WILL BE BACK STRONGER THAN EVER! YOU CAN BE SURE OF IT!!!!!”
The loss dropped Correia to 10-3-1 and leaves “The Pitbull” at 1-3-1 over the past three years. No question her drubbing at the hands (and feet) of “The Preacher’s Daughter” will affect her standing in the bantamweight rankings (see them here).
Where does she go from here? See the possibilities here.
