Former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) women’s bantamweight champion, Holly Holm, has abandoned her short-lived run in the promotion’s newly-created featherweight division to return to her old stomping grounds.
That’s where former division No. 1 contender Bethe Correia will be waiting to bang, courtesy of the UFC Fight Night 111 mixed martial arts (MMA) event, inside Singapore Indoor Stadium on UFC Fight Pass early tomorrow morning (June 17, 2017).
After capturing the title from Ronda Rousey at UFC 193 in late 2015, “The Preacher’s Daughter” (10-3) coughed up her crown to Miesha Tate at UFC 196, then dropped consecutive bouts to Valentina Shevchenko and Germaine de Randamie.
Clearly a must-win situation.
Correia (10-2-1) was stopped by Rousey at UFC 190, then followed that up with a split-decision loss to Raquel Pennington. After getting back into the win column at the expense of Jessica Eye in Cleveland, ”Pitbull” battled Marion Reneau to a draw just last month.
