Derek Brunson got back on the winning track last Saturday night (June 10, 2017) at UFC Fight Night 110 after knocking out Daniel Kelly in just 22 seconds in Auckland, New Zealand (see it again here).
The victory ended his two-fight losing streak, but didn’t end his post-fight bonus drought, despite getting his fifth straight first-round knockout in as many wins. Then again, UFC officials had their work cut out for them when deciding which violent performance deserved the extra $50,000.
Nevertheless, Brunson is eager to get back into the cage, as he took to Twitter to call for a fight against top Middleweight contender Gegard Mousasi.
Aye bro what you have going on @mousasi_mma? I'm gonna reach out to the @ufc @danawhite for a scrap with you. @AliAbdelaziz00

I ko people and don't get bonuses. So if the terms are right I'm asking for the fight.@ufc @mousasi_mma @danawhite @AliAbdelaziz00

Of course, Mousasi isn’t accepting any fights at the moment, as he is still at odds with Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) over a contract dispute, which means he’s still a free agent for the time being.
Should Gegard come to terms with the promotion, he will more than likely get a fight against former division champion Luke Rockhold, according to the ex-185-pound titleholder. Should that indeed be the case, any of you care to offer up other potential fights for Brunson?
