Bisping: Chuck Liddell may sign with Bellator MMA because he’s ‘pissed’ at UFC

Former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) light heavyweight champion, Chuck Liddell, has been flirting with Bellator MMA head cheese Scott Coker, because there is no such thing as retirement in mixed martial arts (MMA).

Not when you have “Viacom money.”

According to UFC middleweight champion Michael Bisping, the now-pissed “Iceman” may be changing teams as a big “fuck you” to UFC, after the promotion fired him from his lucrative do-nothing job.

“He was an ambassador for the UFC, I believe he was on $1 million a year, that’s the number I heard,” Bisping told listeners of his official podcast (transcribed by Bloody Elbow). “It was great that the UFC was doing that, but now of course, new UFC owners came in. I heard that Chuck was really pissed off, so that’s why he’s possibly going over to Bellator.”

Bellator MMA has been known to recruit aging talent from the UFC retirement home, scooping up past headliners like Tito Ortiz and Stephan Bonnar, just to name a few. Whether or not Liddell joins that illustrious list remains to be seen.

But it could lead to yet another un-retirement.
