Bellator MMA welterweight sensation Michael Page was hoping to fight British rival Paul Daley in the main event of the promotion’s upcoming September extravaganza across the pond, just as soon as this was taken care of.
Not happening.
That’s because “Semtex” is refusing to throw down against “Venom” after getting into a physical altercation at Bellator 179 just last month in London, England (see it again here).
From his official Instagram account:
Both myself and @Bellatormma are disappointed that after all the hype, Paula 'Tampax' Daley has once again refused to step into the cage with The One And Only MVP. I know I know, makes no sense, 1st you get whopped Then you call MVP out Then you refuse to fight him. Sorry to the fans that wanted this fight but if he mentions my name again he's getting ignored.
Daley has yet to respond.
Page (12-0) has looked sensational throughout his mixed martial arts (MMA) career — save for last November’s stinker against Fernando Gonzalez — but has faced criticism for never batting top-tier competition.
His biggest challenge currently operating under the same fight banner is Daley (39-15-2), who was recently subbed by Rory MacDonald at Bellator 179. When and where these two eventually collide remains to be seen.
Stay tuned.
