Bellator 180: “Sonnen vs. Silva” is the summer jam that happens later this month (Sat., June 24, 2017) at Madison Square Garden in New York, N.Y., featuring a long anticipated fight between Chael Sonnen and Wanderlei Silva in the pay-per-view (PPV), which will finally settle a years-long ongoing feud that dates back to their Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) tenures.
Fight fans inside “The Garden” who are already on the edge of their seats with anticipation will have a few more moments to wait for this fight — this jam isn’t complete without a rock star.
Dave Navarro, guitarist for the band Jane’s Addiction and host of Spike TV’s “Ink Master” series, has agreed to perform the national anthem before Bellator 180’s main event, making his rendition exclusive to the PPV portion of the card.
It won’t be the first time Navarro has played the anthem on television.
Before Navarro rocks the crowd, the PPV main card will also feature Fedor Emelianenko vs. Matt Mitrione, Douglas Lima defending the Welterweight title against Lorenz Larkin, Michael Chandler being challenged by Brent Primus for the Lightweight crown and the long-awaited Bellator debut of Aaron Pico.
