Knockout! Mark Hunt vs. Derrick Lewis full fight video highlights - UFC Fight Night 110

MMA: UFC Fight Night-Hunt vs Mir Matt Roberts-USA TODAY Sports

In his first appearance at home since a professional kickboxing match back in 2001, UFC heavyweight veteran Mark Hunt looked to capture glory last night (Sat., June 10, 2017) at UFC Fight Night 110 live on FOX Sports 1 from inside Spark Arena in Auckland, New Zealand, when he took on streaking title contender Derrick Lewis. While Hunt’s punching power speaks for itself, “Black Beast” possessed the seven-inch reach advantage for the main event showdown.

Lewis attacked Hunt to the body in the early going, landing kicks to the legs, body, and head. That didn’t deter “Super Samoan” from stalking Lewis, pushing his back up against the cage and loading up for huge right hands. The second round offered even more action, as Lewis landed a huge switch knee that sent Hunt back. Hunt then started to find his own range and lined up for countless power shots along the cage that seemingly hurt “Black Beast.”

A tired Lewis held his hands on his hips in Round 3, as Hunt backed him up against the cage and unloaded at will. Lewis tried to time counter uppercuts, but Hunt’s positioning and technical approach were too precise. Lewis did even more circling and heavy breathing in the fourth before Hunt hurt him with a combination along the cage. “Black Beast” found a home for his own parade of strikes in the center of the cage, but Hunt drove him back to the edges. From there, Hunt started to attack the body before landing another huge right that stiffened Lewis. With too much damage to handle, Lewis started to wilt along the cage and covered up. Hunt poured it on before the referee quickly jumped in for the TKO stoppage.

With this win, Hunt jumps back into the heavyweight win column and collects a huge finish that could catapult him right back into title contention. He’s still wildly entertaining at 43 years of age and can still outpace some of the hottest names the division has to offer.
