Ross Pearson did not get what he hoped for earlier tonight (Sat., June 10, 2017) at UFC Fight Night 110 live on FOX Sports 1 from inside Spark Arena in Auckland, New Zealand, when he ran into rising prospect Dan Hooker. While Pearson was able to utilize tremendous footwork and boxing skills to land in spurts, Hooker was the one to walk away with the victory. After “Real Deal” rushed in on a combination on the feet, Hooker landed a brutal knee that put the Englishman out. One insurance punch was needed before the referee yanked Hooker off and awarded him the second-round knockout finish.
The memorable knee can be seen below courtesy of UFC.

With this victory, Hooker gets back into the UFC win column in his return to 155 pounds. The Auckland native has developed his skill set immensely since losing to Yair Rodriguez back in 2015 and looks poised to potentially test the top 15 by the end of the year.
