Before Joanna Jedrzejczyk defends her strawweight title in the co-main event of UFC 211 next weekend (Sat., May 13, 2017) inside American Airlines Center in Dallas, Texas against Jessica Andrade, let’s take a trip back down memory lane to see “JJ’s” first-ever title defense.
In June of 2015, Joanna took on Jessica Penne in the main event of UFC Fight Night 69 in Berlin, Germany in what was the Polish star’s first-ever title defense after capturing the strap just three months prior.
And it was another vintage Joanna performance, as she battered and bruised Penne for three rounds before ultimately finishing her via strikes in the third round. Despite the beatdown, Penne proved to be a tough nut to crack, refusing to go down despite getting outclassed on the feet before ultimately getting saved by the referee.
Joanna will look to score her fifth straight title defense against Andrade in what is sure to be a barn-burner in “Big D.”
