After lobbying for a battle on Twitter, UFC lightweights Stevie Ray and Paul Felder will square off at UFC Fight Night 113 on July 16 from inside The SSE Hydro in Glasgow, Scotland, per a recent announcement by the promotion. It will be Ray’s first fight on home soil since defeating Leonardo Mafra via knockout at UFC Fight Night 72.
It's on! @StevenRayMMA vs. @felderpaul lined up for #UFCGlasgow! Tickets on sale June 2.— UFC Europe (@UFCEurope) May 5, 2017
Ray, 27, is one of the better European prospects in MMA right now. With a 5-1 divisional record since entering the promotion back in 2015, “Braveheart” has showcased the potential to test the top 15. Ray is coming off a majority decision win over veteran Joe Lauzon at UFC Fight Night 108.
Felder, 33, is coming off a knockout win over Alessandro Ricci at UFC Fight Night 105. He has struggled to produce a prolonged win streak since making his Octagon debut back in 2014, but “Irish Dragon” remains one of the more exciting strikers in the division with a 5-3 record.
UFC Fight Night 113 currently has no main event in place.
