Excited for Georges St-Pierre's return? Unfortunately, you'll have to wait a while longer before the Canadian superstar steps back into the Octagon. In a new social media post on his Twitter, GSP told Michael Bisping he’d be ready to fight in late fall 2017.
“Mr. Bisping, I cleared my schedule to get ready for training camp after the summer," St-Pierre said. "So I can fight you any time after October. You pick the date. Let’s get it on.”

That is not going to please a lot of hardcore fans whose patience regarding the so called superfight was already starting to wear thin, especially when a July date started to seem unfeasible. Now this fight is set to hold up the hyper-competitive UFC middleweight division for even longer. By the time champion Michael Bisping steps into the cage with Georges, it will have been a year since he last defended the 185 pound strap, and that defense was a 'gift' rematch against a retiring Dan Henderson.
On the plus side, this makes it all the more likely that GSP's return will be held at Madison Square Garden in New York City. Word has it the UFC is planning another big show in the legendary sports venue around that time, and what better bout to headline than St-Pierre's return fight?
Still, there's going to be a lot of people wanting this fight undone so Bisping can defend his belt against one of the several worthy challengers sometime this summer. With over six months to go before Georges St-Pierre vs. Michael Bisping is set to go down, we have a feeling a lot of people (especially UFC middleweights) are gonna be sick of it by the time it arrives.
