Rejuvenated Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) welterweight Peter Sobotta won't be able to capitalize on his current momentum after busting up his arm — and Ben Saunders’ body — at the UFC Fight Night 109 mixed martial arts (MMA) event last Sunday (May 28, 2017) in Stockholm, Sweden.
See his winning performance again right here.
“My left hand is fractured multiple times and I will have a complicated surgery on Friday where they have to take bone from my hip and repair the hand with it, so it's pretty bad,” Sobotta wrote on Instagram. “It will take a few months but I will be back. Injuries are part of fighting and it will not stop me. I'll be back stronger!”
It may take one or two more wins to get here.
After jumping out to an 8-1 start, Sobotta (17-5-1) inked with UFC back in 2009. Unfortunately for the Balingen brawler, three consecutive losses sent him back to the European circuit until five straight wins earned him a second chance in spring 2014.
