According to a recent report by The Calgary Herald, Canadian welterweight Jordan Mein will make his return to the cage opposite Belal Muhammad at UFC 213 on July 8 from inside T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Mein, 27, came out of retirement last year only to lose to Emil Meek at UFC 206 via unanimous decision. Before that, the talented youngster scored big knockout finishes of Mike Pyle and Dan Miller before getting finished by Thiago Alves at UFC 183, which prompted his departure from the sport.
Muhammad, 28, has produced a 2-2 record since entering the promotion back in 2016. The former Titan FC welterweight champion hasn’t put together back-to-back wins just yet, but he’s been involved in a Fight of the Night and scored a late knockout finish of Augusto Montano back in September of last year.
UFC 213 will be headlined by a women’s bantamweight title fight between current champion Amanda Nunes and top contender Valentina Shevchenko, and feature a co-main event tilt between Yoel Romero and Robert Whittaker for the interim middleweight championship.
