Sugar Ray Leonard latest boxer to s—t on the ‘garbage’ fight between Conor McGregor and Floyd Mayweather

Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) lightweight champion Conor McGregor is hoping to score a multimillion dollar payday by boxing undefeated pugilist Floyd Mayweather Jr., because combat sports is a joke and we should all laugh.

Longtime “Golden Boy” Oscar de la Hoya thinks it’s a circus that could torpedo the “sweet science” (those comments here) and another ex-champ, “Sugar” Ray Leonard, believes the crossover bout is total trash.

“To boxing purists, it’s garbage,” Leonard told Fight Hub TV. “To fans in general, it’s the fight of a lifetime.”

He should try writing about it 17 times a day.

While McGregor has agreed to terms for a potential showdown, Mayweather is still mulling it over. That means we’re no closer to bout agreements than we were when “Money” was pulling this same shtick with Ronda Rousey.

Sigh ... good times.
