Fists clashed at Charlotte Motor Speedway in Concord, N.C., this past weekend (Sat., May 20, 2017), but not because two NASCAR drivers had a heated exchange on pit road. Instead, a special presentation of Bellator MMA inaugurated its Monster Energy Fight Series, complete with appearances by Dan Henderson and Tito Ortiz for fans who ventured down to Speedway Fan Zone.

While the fights could not be televised or streamed from the venue, the results were still recorded and photographed for the benefit of mixed martial arts (MMA) fans. In fact, three fights had first round finishes that could earn the winning man a return date at a numbered Bellator event.

Monster Energy Bellator MMA Fight Series Results:

Heavyweight: Allen Crowder d. Robert Neal via technical knockout (strikes) at 2:24 of round one
Welterweight: Jacob McClintock d. Jeremie Holloway via submission (guillotine) at 1:39 of round one
Lightweight: Lashawn Alcocks d. Mike Stevens via technical knockout (strikes) at 2:20 of round one
Light Heavyweight: Allen Bose d. Chris Crawford via unanimous decision (29-28 x3)

Holloway had two previous appearances for Bellator, including a televised submission loss to Michael Page; however, it was the surprising McClintock (not seen in Bellator since 2010) who picked up a third straight win with his first professional MMA bout in five years.
