Daniel Cormier: Conor McGregor vs Floyd Mayweather ‘embarrassing’ for UFC, expect ‘Notorious’ to get slept

Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) light heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier is not a fan of the proposed Conor McGregor vs. Floyd Mayweather Jr. boxing match that recently took one step closer to becoming a reality.

It’s not that “DC” begrudges the trash-talking Irishman for making a multi-zillion dollar payday, it’s just the idea of boxing promoters using footage of his “Notorious” massacre to shame mixed martial arts (MMA) in the months to follow.

“He can actually go and fight Mayweather,” Cormier told the viewers of UFC Tonight. “He will lose. These dudes will get slept, it’s going to be embarrassing, so no, it is not good for the UFC. Conor, hats off to you, make your money, but don’t get slept! Which might happen.”

Or might not, according to this guy.

Boxing vs. MMA is all the rage these days, as former UFC heavyweight champion Junior dos Santos has called out Anthony Joshua, while 205-pound striker Jimi Manuwa wants to mix things up with David Haye.

And let’s not forget the former UFC champ who started it all nearly a decade ago.
