Latest UFC rankings update: Stipe Miocic is now top five pound-for-pound fighter after UFC 211

Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) recently wrapped its UFC 211: "Miocic vs. Dos Santos 2" mixed martial arts (MMA) event on pay-per-view (full results here), which took place last weekend (Sat., May 13, 2017) inside American Airlines Center in Dallas, Texas.

The big story coming out of "The Lone Star State" was the continued dominance of Stipe Miocic, who melted Junior dos Santos in the heavyweight main event (watch it again here) to launch himself into the top five of the promotion's pound-for-pound rankings.

That's not all.

Jessica Andrade tumbled down the 115-pound ladder after getting throttled for 25 minutes in the co-main event, while David Branch debuted in the middleweight top 10 with his successful (albeit boring) return. Also, Demian Maia took over as No. 1 contender at 170 pounds for this performance.

Here's how the rankings work, courtesy of UFC.com:

Rankings were generated by a voting panel made up of media members. The media members were asked to vote for who they feel are the top fighters in the UFC by weight-class and pound-for-pound. A fighter is only eligible to be voted on if they are in active status in the UFC. A fighter can appear in more than one weight division at a time. The champion and interim champion are considered to be in the top positions of their respective divisions and therefore are not eligible for voting by weight-class. However, the champions can be voted on for the pound-for-pound rankings.

Take a look at what the latest rankings field looks like courtesy of UFC.com. Note: (+/- = movement in rankings, *NR = Not previously ranked).
