Bellator 179: “MacDonald vs. Daley” takes over SSE Arena in London, England, on May 19, 2017, featuring a highly anticipated main event between Rory MacDonald — who is making his promotional debut — against Paul “Semtex” Daley.

As one might expect, Bellator loaded up the card with local favorites who have excellent track records such as former Light Heavyweight champion Liam McGeary (12-1) facing former No. 1 contender Linton Vassell (17-5), and hard hitting “Barbaric” Derek Anderson (14-3, 1 NC) facing flashy English striker Michael “Venom” Page (12-0).

Unfortunately the latter Welterweight fight is now off the card. Ariel Helwani of MMA Fighting reports that Page has withdrawn from Bellator 179 because of a knee injury. Unfortunately this is not the first time for Page — he also had to pull out of Bellator 134’s “British Invasion” with an injury.

Bellator officials have confirmed to MMA Mania that the McGeary vs. Vassell fight will be the new co-main event of Bellator 179. In addition, a Welterweight bout between Alex Lohore (11-1) and Dan Vinni (14-14) has been promoted to the main card to take the Anderson vs. Page slot. Anderson will no longer compete on the card.

The revised Bellator 179 card for Spike TV and the fans attending at SSE Arena is below:
