UFC 212: Vitor Belfort is retiring on June 3 in Brazil — and he expects you to be there

Just don’t ask him to pick up the tab.

What a long, strange trip it’s been.

Former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) champion Vitor Belfort will compete for the final time of his storied mixed martial arts (MMA) career -- barring the formation of a “Legends League” — when he collides with fellow elder statesman Nate Marquardt at UFC 212.

And he expects you to be there.

“I started my UFC journey 20 years ago, at UFC 12 and exactly 200 events after on June third, I will be making my last appearance for the organization at my hometown, Rio de Janeiro,” Belfort wrote on Instagram. “I am expecting you at the arena so I can say thank you in person to you all that have been with me along this way. Always together!”

His “Great” fight takes place on June 3, 2017 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil (details).

It’s been a tough couple of years for “The Phenom,” who suffered a downward spiral in the wake of his divorce with testosterone replacement therapy (TRT). In fact, the Brazilian is just 1-4 since late 2013 with all four losses coming by way of knockout.

Can Belfort get his storybook ending next month on native soil?
