UFC 210 results: Daniel Cormier vs Anthony Johnson live stream play-by-play updates

Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) recently put the finishing touches on its upcoming UFC 210: "Cormier vs. Johnson 2" pay-per-view (PPV) fight card, which takes place inside KeyBank Center in Buffalo, New York, on Sat., April 8, 2017.

UFC 210 features the hotly-anticipated rematch between UFC light heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier and hard-hitting No. 1 contender Anthony "Rumble" Johnson, who run it back after “DC” reigned supreme at UFC 187.

In the UFC 210 co-main event, former middleweight kingpin Chris Weidman will look to get himself back onto the 185-pound title chase following consecutive losses at the expense of ex-Strikeforce kingpin Gegard Mousasi, winner of four straight.

205 lbs.: UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Daniel Cormier vs. Anthony Johnson

Round 1: Johnson opens with oblique kicks. Cormier forces him back with an overhand right, eats a hard leg kick and Johnson shoots. One minute in. Johnson keeping him against the fence, eats a knee. Browne elbows from Cormier and Rumble briefly gets him down. Two minutes in. Cormier gets the front headlock and presses Johnson against the cage. Double underhooks for Johnson. Cormier looking for some of his dirty boxing. Two minutes to go.

Front headlock for Cormier, solid knee. Johnson lands a hard knee as Cormier tries to change levels. Rumble swinging big and Cormier ties back up. Ref breaks them up, warning Cormier for holding the fence. One minute to go. Johnson swinging for the fences with punches and head kicks. Johnson shoots and Cormier forces his head down. Johnson takes him down at the bell. 10-9 Johnson.

Round 2: Cormier appears to have a broken nose. Leg kick exchange. Body kick from Johnson, Cormier answers in kind. Cormier catches a knee to the body and shoots in. One minute in. Cormier grinding against Johnson on the cage. Johnson changes levels and scores a takedown. Two minutes in. Good knee by Rumble, but it allows Cormier to take him down and immediately take the back. Cormier a little high, releases a hook to secure position. Solid punches from Cormier. Two minutes to go.

185 lbs.: Gegard Mousasi vs. Chris Weidman

Round 1: 1-2 from Mousasi in the early going. Solid jabs as usual. Hard body kick from Weidman, Mousasi catches it but can’t use it. One minute in. Leg kick from Mousasi and Weidman puts him on his back with a single-leg. Mousasi scrambles up and Weidman fights for a front choke. Mousasi slips out and returns to his feet. Jab exchange. Good low kick by Weidman, knocked off-balance. Two minutes in. Another single-leg by Weidman into guard. Mousasi uses an underhook to slip out and get back up. Body kick by Weidman and he shoots once again. Two minutes to go.

Mousasi defending on the cage, lands a trio of Browne elbows. Mousasi separates. Leg kick by Mousasi and Weidman appears to rock him with a right cross. Mousasi marches forward and sprawls on a shot, but Weidman continues to drive. One minute to go. Good knee by Mousasi as he separates. Weidman knocks him over as they separate and takes top position. 10-9 Weidman.

Round 2: Sneaky head kick from Weidman, who eats a stiff jab. Mousasi opening up on the fence with punches and knees. Mousasi on the attack and he shoots. Knees to the thigh from Mousasi. Ref breaks them up a minute in. Mousasi fires a jab and Weidman takes him down once again. Mousasi elbows off his back, transitions to butterfly guard, and tries to work. Two minutes in. Weidman passes to full mount and takes the back. Mousasi tries to sweep, but Weidman uses a wrist grip to roll through. Hard right hand and a knee by Mousasi when they stand. Two minutes to go.

Weidman tries a desperate shot and Mousasi cracks him with a pair of knees; one was clearly legal, the second was arguable. Replays show that both are legal.

There’s such a regulatory clusterf*ck that the doctors call the fight. I literally have no idea what happened.

115 lbs.: Cynthia Calvillo vs. Pearl Gonzalez

Round 1: Calvillo sending out early kicks. Straight right from Gonzalez. Calvillo staying busy, bouncing shots off Gonzalez’s guard. One minute in. Now Calvillo working behind her jab, sneaks in an uppercut. Right hand from Gonzalez in return. Calvillo lands a left hook, can’t get the trip two minutes in. Leg kick from Gonzalez. 1-2 lands. Two minutes to go.

Calvillo looking for combinations, mostly hitting forearm. Nice uppercut and Gonzalez comes back with a cross. Overhand right and left hook by Calvillo and Gonzalez shoots. They jockey for position on the fence. One minute to go. Knees from Calvillo. Gonzalez goes for a trip and Calvillo nearly takes the back, instead locking up a triangle. Gonzalez is saved by the bell. 10-9 Calvillo.

Round 2: Calvillo still moving well and throwing with volume. Body shot and left hook by Calvillo, then leg kicks and straights. One minute in. Right hand exchange, leg kick. Gonzalez hits a takedown into mount, then transitions to an armbar. Calvillo patiently works her way out and takes side control. She spins to the back and puts in both hooks. Two minutes to go.

Calvillo working for the choke, briefly tries for a crank. She spins and Calvillo maintains mount, then retakes the back. One minute to go. Gonzalez manages to survive until the bell. 10-9 Calvillo.

Round 3: Gonzalez looking a little more aggressive this round. She shoots, denied after trading punches. Right cross lands for Gonzalez, then another on the counter. One minute in. Gonzalez starting to put her punches together. Calvillo to the body. She catches a leg kick and takes Gonzalez down into half guard. Two minutes in. Calvillo works her way to mount, then on the back once again. Full body triangle for Calvillo, who tries another crank. Two minutes to go.

Gonzalez defending well and constantly moving, but Calvillo manages to get her elbow under Gonzalez’s chin and draw the tap.

Final result: Calvillo def. Conzalez by submission (rear naked choke)


170 lbs.: Thiago Alves vs. Patrick Cote

Round 1: Left hook from Alves and an inside leg kick. Harder outside low kick. One minute in. Cote with an inside leg kick and a 1-2. Overhand right blocked, left hook is not. Hard knee has Cote backing up. Nasty body kick by Alves. Two minutes in. 1-2 from Cote met by a leg kick. Hard counter right from Alves. Switch head kick blocked. Two minutes to go.

They trade on the fence, neither connects. Cote to the body. They trade inside leg kicks. Counter hook drops Cote and Alves follows him down into guard. Now half guard for the Brazilian with a minute to work. Alves lands some short elbows, then postures up for some vicious punches before the bell. 10-9 Alves.

Round 2: Cote comes out aggressive, sending out punching salvos. 1-2 lands for the Canadian. Hard elbow by Alves and they trade punches. Another leg kick from Alves. One minute in. Cote Superman punch falls short. Left hook from Alves as they trade, then another and a third. He’s timing these perfectly. Right hand connects. Two minutes in. Cote with a lead right as Alves ducks down, he eats one in return. More leg kicks. Overhand right lands for Cote and he presses forward with more punches. Two minutes to go.

More low kicks by Alves, then a monster counter right that buckles Cote. The Canadian shoots and manages to work his way back to his feet. One minute to go. Low kick by Alves. Inside leg kick, left hook, outside leg kick before the bell. 10-9 Alves.

Round 3: Cote takes one to the sack right off the bat, elects to continue right away. Cote marching after Alves, eats a hard body kick. Low-high goes Cote. He shoots, stuffed. One minute in. Alves reverses position and knees his thighs before taking him down into half guard. Two minutes in. Cote regains full guard. Alves using a can opener to open his guard, lets Cote stand after landing elbows. Two minutes to go.

Low kick and combination from Alves. Inside low kick. Outside, countered by a Cote right hand. One minute to go. Hard body kick from Alves, Cote cracks him with an uppercut. Cote’s going for it, whirling it bolo-style. Alves lands another leg kick and nearly lands a flying knee before the horn. 10-9 Alves.

Final result: Alves def. Cote by unanimous decision


155 lbs.: Will Brooks vs. Charles Oliveira

Round 1: Oliveira opens with a hard low kick. Tries to go high, blocked, goes back to the leg. Brooks answers in kind, then to the body. Nice inside trip from Oliveira into guard. One minute in. Brooks scoots to the fence, working to stand. He makes it up, only to get slammed down. Oliveira immediately puts both hooks in and works for the choke. He’s got it locked up and, despite admirable resistance from Brooks, eventually draws the tap. The second-biggest underdog on the card gets the submission win.

Final result: Oliveira def. Brooks by submission (rear naked choke)


145 lbs.: Mike De La Torre vs. Myles Jury

Round 1: Jury scores a quick single-leg and sets up in guard. De La Torre attempts to scramble, no dice. De La Torre tries to turn into him and Jury slaps on the front headlock before moving to the back. Full body triangle for Jury. Two minutes in. He flattens De La Torre out and pounds away. Two minutes to go.

Major elbows from Jury and De La Torre’s split open. He keeps up the punishment until the referee steps in.

Final result: Jury def. De La Torre by TKO (punches and elbows)


170 lbs.: Sean Strickland vs. Kamaru Usman

Round 1: Usman goes for an early takedown on the fence. Usman gets him to a knee, leaning on him with the rear waistlock. One minute in. Good knee by Usman, utilizing the new roles. Knees to the thigh from Usman. Hard knee to the head. Two minutes in. Usman snapping him down, looking to put in a hook between knees. Usman gets him down and Strickland looks for a leg. Hard right hand with two minutes to go.

Heavy shots from Usman. He backs off and Strickland tries to shoot in, only to get stuffed and forced back into guard. Strickland sporting a cut. Strickland turns for an armbar, nothing there. More ground-and-pound. 10-9 Usman.

Round 2: Usman marching after him. Stiff jab by Usman. Strickland’s left eye is damaged. Usman clips him with a left hook and opens up on the fence. Body shot. One minute in. He shoots and Strickland defense. They separate and Usman goes back to slinging bombs at him. Two minutes in. Strickland stuffs a takedown attempt, only to get blown to bits by an overhand right on the break. Usman jumps on him and Strickland goes to deep half guard to protect his head. Usman slips out and looks for the back. Two minutes to go.

Strickland rolling, staying active off his back. He rolls to his knees and Usman sprawls on him. He makes it up. Hard leg kick from Usman. 10-8 Usman.

Round 3: The doctor looks at Strickland’s eye between rounds, but allows it to continue. Usman to the body, up top with a straight left. Usman showboating a bit, lands a big uppercut after taking a single-leg. Double punch. One minute in. Leg kick lands. Another. He scores an easy takedown on the fence. Two minutes in. Usman chipping away. Strickland tries to turn into him, makes it to his feet with two minutes to go.

Round 1: Blachowicz opens with a body kick attempt. Hard uppercut by Blachowicz and a left hook drops Cummins. Cummins scrambles up, eating shots, and knocks Blachowicz off-balance with an overhand right. He powers into mount, But Blachowicz scrambles to his feet and avoids an anaconda choke attempt. Left hook by Blachowicz, who stuffs another takedown. Left hooks landing clean. Cummins with a some decent punches, rocked again by a right hand. Blachowicz stuffs a takedown and puts him on the fence. Good uppercut knocks Cummins’ mouthpiece out and, after they separate, they pause to put it back in. Cummins is not steady on his feet. Huge shots by Blachowicz. Two minutes to go.

They maneuver in the clinch and Cummins lands an inside trip into guard. One minute to go. Short elbows from “Durkin.” Cummins staying heavy, avoids a triangle attempt and keeps Blachowicz on the fence until the bell. 10-8 Blachowicz.

Round 2: Uppercut and right hand from Blachowicz. Cummins shoots and puts him on the fence. Blachowicz gets double underhooks and separates. Cummins with a counter right hand and hits a nice takedown into half guard. Cummins bleeding from the top of his head, maneuvering it into Blachowicz’s mouth. Gross. Two minutes in. Blachowicz looking for the triangle/armbar series, then a Kimura when Cummins dives back in. He transitions to an armbar, but Cummins slips out and drops some heavy ground-and-pound. Two minutes to go.

Blachowicz makes space and stands. Now Blachowicz looking for a takedown. He gets Cummins down, Cummins pops back up. They separate. One minute to go. Blachowicz sneaks in another uppercut. He’s running out of steam, lands another right uppercut. Blachowicz shoots, Cummins stuffs it and bangs away at the body. 10-9 Cummins.

Round 3: Blachowicz visibly exhausted. Cummins lands some heavy punches and ties up on the fence. Blachowicz avoids a trip. One minute in. Nice takedown by Cummins into guard. Blachowicz turns for an armbar, Cummins pops it out. Two minutes in. Elbow from Cummins, punches and a can opener. Cummins stands and Blachowicz shoots. Stuffed. Two minutes to go.

Counter right from Cummins as Blachowicz tries a flying knee. Hard knees by Cummins from the front headlock. Cummins takes him down once again into guard. One minute to go. Cummins works from guard until the bell. 10-9 Cummins, arguable 10-8.

155 lbs.: Gregor Gillespie vs. Andrew Holbrook

Round 1: Hard right hand from Gillespie and a follow-up left hook knocks Holbrook cold. He wakes up on the ground just in time to get hammered into unconsciousness again.

155 lbs.: Josh Emmett vs. Desmond Green

Round 1: Emmett circling on the outside. Right hand falls short, as does a Green flurry. Low kick met by a Green jab. One minute in. 1-2 from Emmett, 1-2 from Green. Overhand right by Emmett. There’s the hand speed. Two minutes in. Green leg kick. Straight left lands. Emmett with a right hand in return. Low kick hits Green’s cup and makes quite a racket. Green shakes it off and they resume. Two minutes to go.

Leg kick exchange. Good combination by Emmett, Green comes back with a right hook. Green leg kick. Right hand to the body by Emmett and a left hook upstairs, but Green rattles him in return. One minute to go. Sharp counter left by Green and Emmett unloads a flurry. 10-9 Green for his work on the counter.

Round 2: Green catches a kick and lands a counter right hand. Double right hand from Emmett, Green pursues with a combination. One minute in. Right hand lands for Emmett. Green’s defense fairly robust thus far. Counter right from Green. Two minutes in. Straight left connects. Green stuffs a blast double and lands a counter right. Straight left. Leg kick from Emmett. Full guard again. Bibulatov with some decent elbows and punches. One minute to go, back to half guard. Hard elbow when Lausa regains guard. More solid elbows. Bibulatov ramps it up in the last thirty seconds. 9-9 with the point deduction.

Round 3: Bibulatov goes back to the kicks, glancing wheel kick. He ducks down for a takedown, hauls Lausa away from the cage, and slams him into side control. Good shots. One minute in.
