Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) strawweight sensation Tecia Torres, 27, may have one of the best bodies in all of mixed martial arts (MMA), thanks to some amazing genetics and a ton of hard work.
But that hasn’t saved her from body image issues.
Torres (8-1) is gearing up for a first-person essay in Teen Vogue and recently took to Instagram to share her story, which not only started when she was a “Tiny” teen, but also straight through her run on The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) 20.
“The bullying began again with other adult women competitors speaking up as if they had known me my entire life or were apart of my daily activity,” Torres wrote. “Because I am in such phenomenal shape, I must me using some type of performance-enhancing drug. On The Ultimate Fighter, rumor had it I was throwing up. I've always found these comments so hilarious.”
Jerks.
Torres is coming off a unanimous decision win over Bec Rawlings at UFC Fight Night 104 back in February.
