Bellator 178: “Straus vs. Pitbull 4” went down this past weekend (April 21, 2017) at Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Conn., featuring a main event that saw Daniel Straus fighting Patricio “Pitbull” Freire for a historic fourth — and hopefully final — time in a Featherweight title defense.
While Straus may be unhappy with the outcome, officials from Bellator MMA and Spike are clearly pleased, sending out a press release to tout the show’s ratings. Indeed, the main event averaged 949,000 viewers and peaked at 1,033,000 viewers at 10:38 p.m. ET.
The broadcast pulled in a solid 733,000 (DVR +3) eyeballs, which is below the promotion’s overall average of 922,000 (DVR +7) viewers, but nothing to sneeze at when you consider said average constitutes the highest viewership totals in Bellator franchise history.
