Mickey Gall asked for a fight against CM Punk during Dana White’s “Lookin’ for a Fight” reality series, so nothing was going to stop the young up-and-coming fighter from stepping into the cage at UFC 203 last September once he got his wish.
Not even a nasty cut he suffered right above his right eye three weeks prior to making the walk down the aisle to face the former professional wrestler. Seven months after the bout, Gall took to Instagram to reveal just how gruesome his cut was and revealed that doctors informed him not to fight.
Thankfully, his eye didn’t get touched, as Gall made quick work of Punk, submitting the ex-WWE superstar in a little under two minutes, with never being in any danger of eating any strikes.
Three months later, Mickey took on and whipped another product of “Lookin’ for a Fight,” as he defeated rising sensation Sage Northcutt at UFC on FOX 22 by second-round submission (watch it).
Had he listened to his doctor’s advice, perhaps Gall wouldn’t have become one of the most called out fighters in the promotion.
