It didn’t last long for Diego Sanchez last night (Sat., April 22, 2017) at UFC Fight Night 108 live on FOX Sports 1 from inside Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tennessee, as he fell victim to the power of a returning Al Iaquinta. The wily veteran came out swinging early and actually caught Iaquinta on a few occasions, but “Raging Al” landed two blistering right hands that left Sanchez reaching for air. Iaquinta wasted little time in landing an insurance shot to the top of Sanchez’s head before the referee jumped in for the early first-round knockout stoppage.

With this win, Iaquinta re-enters the mix at 155 pounds after two years on the shelf. He will probably need a longer fight to work out any cobwebs in his system, but the New Yorker looked tremendous in his biggest UFC performance to date.
