Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) will send featherweights Cub Swanson and Artem Lobov into battle for the UFC Fight Night 108 headliner TONIGHT (Sat., April 22, 2017) from inside Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tennessee. It will be Swanson's first main event bid since dropping a submission loss to Frankie Edgar back at UFC Fight Night 57.
For Lobov, who is best known for being Conor McGregor's training partner, this is a huge opportunity to gain some notoriety as an up-and-coming featherweight slugger who can stand in the pocket and deliver.
"The Russian Hammer" called for this bout earlier this year and now gets his wish.
As for Swanson, the last time we saw him he was throwing bombs opposite Doo Ho Choi at UFC 206 in one of the best fights of 2016. A win over Lobov certainly isn't going to launch Swanson into immediate title contention, but another main event spot can't hurt his UFC stock.
