Suspended Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) light heavyweight Jon Jones is just a few months out from his Octagon return, which could take place at the UFC 214 pay-per-view (PPV) event this July in Anaheim, California.
If not, longtime nemesis Alexander Gustafsson is willing to throw the ex-champ a welcome-back party, which will no doubt be a hit among mixed martial arts (MMA) fans after their “Fight of the Night” at UFC 165 in late 2013.
“If Jones wants a welcome party back to the UFC, then I’m happy to do that,” Gustafsson told Champions.co. “The title shot is a big goal for everyone in the sport, but for me, the opportunity to beat Jones is almost the same thing. I want the belt as well, but Jones and I have unfinished business, and I’ll happily deal with it after I beat Glover.”
First things first.
Gustafsson must first get past fellow light heavyweight title contender Glover Teixeira when they collide in the main event of the upcoming UFC Fight Night 109 extravaganza in Stockholm, Sweden, on Sat., May 28, 2017.
