UFC strawweight Rose Namajunas already knows she’s the next Ronda Rousey

Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) strawweight contender Rose Namajunas took another step closer to a 115-pound title shot by disposing of Michelle Waterson at the UFC on FOX 24 mixed martial arts (MMA) event last weekend in Kansas City.

Watch the slam-bang highlights here.

“I’ve been knowing that,” Namajunas told TMZ about being the successor to Ronda Rousey. “It’s just a matter of whether or not people like me.”

We know Rousey does.

Promotion president Dana White already anointed “Thug” Rose as heir to the “Rowdy” throne — no longer occupied — as far back as season 20 of The Ultimate Fighter, where Namajunas came up short against Carla Esparza.

If and when Namajunas (6-3) gets her crack at the strawweight crown remains to be seen, as division champion Joanna Jedrzejczyk is currently booked to throw down against Jessica Andrade next month in Dallas, Texas.

More on that upcoming bout here.
