Will the real G.O.A.T. please stand up?
Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) flyweight champion Demetrious Johnson is the No. 1 pound-for-pound fighter in the world, according to the latest mixed martial arts (MMA) rankings (see them here).
UFC lightweight kingpin Conor McGregor is ranked No. 2.
To prove those numbers are accurate, “Mighty Mouse” is willing to jump up in weight to fight “Notorious,” though Johnson acknowledges the trash-talking Irishman would have a considerable size advantage.
But he would also make a considerable amount of money.
“He would have to make 145, I would not be able to make 155 pounds,” Johnson told TMZ. “I would say that fight is absolutely easier to get done than the Floyd Mayweather fight.”
I guarantee you that would take care of those low ratings.
McGregor is still hunting for a mega-payday of his own, but may end up going for a third championship title if this recent report has any merit. If so, “Mighty Mouse” can still move up in weight for a showdown against this champ.
