Manuwa: Boring Daniel Cormier is shaped like a big potato, will get his face broken

MMA: UFC 192-Cormier vs Gustafsson Troy Taormina-USA TODAY Sports

Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) light heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier disposed of top contender Anthony Johnson at the UFC 210 pay-per-view (PPV) event last weekend in Buffalo, New York.

Watch the highlights here.

Following his latest title defense, “DC” clomped around the cage and called out fellow light heavyweight bruisers Jon Jones and Jimi Manuwa, with the latter taking the brunt of the champ’s post-fight trash talk.

“Poster Boy” told MMA Junkie he’s going to finish what “Rumble” started.

“To be fair, I respected Cormier. He’s the champion of the division. I think he’s quite a boring fighter; he’s not the most boring, but he’s wrestling, and it’s not that great for the fans. That’s probably why he’s not so popular with the fans. But I said that in an interview, and he took it like, ‘Oh, he said I’m a boring fighter.’ He came to me and called me out when I was cageside. I’m sitting cageside watching the fight. He felt the presence, and he knows deep down. Why would he come to me? I’m No. 4; I’m no one in the division. He knows. Talking about my Gucci jumpsuit – have you seen the way this guy dresses? He dresses like his mom dresses him. He’s a (expletive) big potato. This designer stuff won’t even fit him. He’s like a round ball.”

Manuwa threw his name into the mix — emphatically — last month in London, England.

Whether or not Cormier moves on to fight Manuwa or Jones depends on a couple of things. First, “DC” must get his nose cleared by physicians after Johnson blew it to smithereens by way of crushing head kick at UFC 210.

Second, the promotion has to decide how it wants to reintroduce Jones to the mixed martial arts (MMA) community after “Bones” finishes up his drug-test suspension in July (more on that here).

Lots of moving parts to this light heavyweight machine ... stay tuned.
