UFC 210 injuries and medical suspensions: Daniel Cormier, Chris Weidman benched 45 days

MMA: UFC 210-Weidman vs Mousasi Kevin Hoffman-USA TODAY Sports

UFC 210 injuries and medical suspensions for those athletes competing at the “Cormier vs. Johnson 2” pay-per-view (PPV) event last Saturday night (April 8, 2017) from inside KeyBank Center in Buffalo, were released on Monday by New York State Athletic Commission (NYSAC).

Leading the list of mandatory timeouts is light heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier, who had his face caved in en route to a submission victory over the now-retired Anthony Johnson (watch it).

Elsewhere on the card, former 185-pound kingpin Chris Weidman drew 45 days of his own, after eating a couple of knees from Gegard Mousasi during their controversial co-main event (details).

That's not all.

Full list of UFC 210 medical suspensions include:

Daniel Cormier: Suspended minimum 45 days pending NYSAC clearance
Chris Weidman: Suspended minimum 45 days pending NYSAC clearance
Patrick Cote: Suspended 45 days
Mike De La Torre: Suspended minimum 45 days pending NYSAC clearance

Just a quick reminder: Fighters often return to action much quicker once doctors give them the green light. The lengthy suspensions are just a precaution in most cases. In addition, not all injuries are recorded during the post-fight examination and often times surface in follow-up tests.
