Former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) women’s bantamweight titleholder Ronda Rousey may not be active in mixed martial arts (MMA) — thanks to this — but she’s still out there fighting.
Instead, “Rowdy” has been observing “Day Without A Woman,” which Wikipedia tells me was a strike planned for this Wednesday (March 8, 2017) in protest of Donald Trump, who was elected president of the United States back in January.
Though not everyone in UFC has a problem with “The Donald.”
Rousey (12-2) hasn’t been seen since her first-round shellacking at the hands of Amanda Nunes at UFC 207 last December, and may or may not return to the Octagon in 2017.
That could depend on how much activity she sees behind the camera for incoming roles like this.
The statue on her Instagram page, for those unaware, is “Fearless Girl” by artist Kristen Visbal, recently installed in the financial district of New York City as a call to include more women on corporate boards.
On International Women's Day, join me in honoring the critical role of women here in America & around the world.

I have tremendous respect for women and the many roles they serve that are vital to the fabric of our society and our economy.
