Retired baseball slugger Alex Rodriguez, who finished his career amid steroid controversy as a member of the New York Yankees, is finding ways to keep himself busy (and keep the cashflow coming) after hanging up his cleats.
And since he’s chummy with Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) President Dana White, it probably won’t come as a surprise to learn that “A-Rod” is getting into the UFC GYM business.
“As a Miami native, I am thrilled to now expand the UFC GYM brand across Miami,” Rodriguez said in a statement (via Miami Herald). “The UFC GYM brand represents the best in fitness and, starting with our Kendall facility, all of our members will have the opportunity to transform their lives with some of the most innovative training techniques utilized by the best athletes in the world.”
Back when ZUFFA was steering the UFC ship, the promotion purchased the L.A. Boxing chain and rebranded it as UFC GYM, which not only affords members state-of-the-art training facilities, but also perks to live events.
