Former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) women’s bantamweight champion Holly Holm, in late 2015, was a perfect 10-0 in mixed martial arts (MMA), shocking the world with her violent, second-round knockout win over Ronda Rousey at UFC 193 in Australia.
She even got her own month.
Then it all came crashing down and three fights later, “The Preacher’s Daughter” is 0-3 and now winless in the promotion’s newly-created women’s featherweight division. Whether or not she stays there could depend on her next bout.
But this rematch seems unlikely.
UFC recently offered Holm a showdown against South Korean newcomer Ji Yeon Kim for the upcoming Singapore event on June 12, according to Albuquerque Journal (via Sherdog), though nothing has been finalized at this time.
The bantamweight Kim (6-0-2) was last seen choking out the legendary Tao Li, who is 0-3 after getting finished in all three of her MMA fights. To be fair, she also submitted the 1-4 Hatice Ozyurt, known around the world as “The Turkish Delight.”
This potential match up doing anything for ya?
